For my birthday my husband surprised me with a two night trip to Pawhuska. I loved it Pawhuska is a relaxed small town with Western charm, shopping, prairie views, and plenty of good food.
We didn’t have an itinerary and I got lots of suggestions from my social media friends, the sweet front desk ladies at Frontier Hotel, the shop help at The Mercantile, and the Docent at the Lodge had lots of helpful advice. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday not everything is open so I’m sharing what we would have done if the rain had stopped. We didn’t walk at Tallgrass, couldn’t get outside much at the Lodge, and I didn’t get to walk the awesome trail at the Osage Visitor Center but I saw them and would have loved it. We also had to head home a little early because we were expecting company.

- Walk a short trail near the visitor area to see lots of birds.
