“Reset, Repair, Rebuild, Rise” is my daily goal reminder this year. I have the opportunity to encourage myself and others to reset habits, repair bodies, rebuild muscle and bone, and rise above the negativity and fear of failure.

Together we are stronger than we are alone is my motto for year 3.:

Two years ago, ( I still can’t believe it has been that long!) I laced up my walking shoes, took a deep breath, and whispered to myself, “It’s time.” I had asked 10 friends to follow this account for my accountability. Living in the country I knew I wouldn’t be likely to attend classes or a gym. I had no idea what I was doing.

I didn’t know what would come next. I didn’t have a perfect plan or even a clear finish line. I just knew I wanted to feel better and that I was tired of sitting on the sidelines of my own life. I had grandchildren I wanted to be active with.

That first walk was only 15 minutes and I came home tired and mad about it but it was the beginning of something I never expected..

So now, here I am: two years later. Still walking. Still learning. Still showing up for myself and I hope for others as well.

Why I Started

I originally began this journey for accountability. I thought if I posted my walks or health goals online, I’d stay more consistent. What I didn’t expect was how quickly it would turn into something much more meaningful.

I began to hear from people who were just like me. People overwhelmed with information, unsure where to start, and silently wondering if it was too late. They didn’t want perfection. They wanted encouragement.

And I realized I could offer that.

So I kept going but not just for me, for anyone struggling to take charge of their health. My daughter in law encouraged me to be a light in a sometimes dark world and when I’m foundering and feeling like an imposter, I hang on to what she said.

What Year Two Taught Me

The second year of any journey has been different from the first. The newness wore off. Real life continued. But so did the lessons.

Here are some of my takeaways from year 2:

🌟 Progress Isn’t Just Physical

The biggest wins this year weren’t about weight or appearance.

They were about how I felt in my body.

How I recovered faster. How I could walk longer.

How I said “no” when I needed rest, and “yes” when I had the energy.

🌟 Community Makes Everything Lighter

I’m so grateful for this online community. Whether it’s a kind comment, a helpful tip, a shared story, or just knowing you’re walking alongside me helps to me keep going. We need each other.

🌟 Motivation is a Feeling. Habits Are a Lifeline.

Some mornings this past year I was fired up and others I wasn’t. But I kept a few key routines in place, and that made all the difference.

The honest truth? You don’t need perfect motivation you need a few solid habits that anchor you.

🌟 It’s Never Too Late

I’m in my 60s and still learning. Still getting stronger. Still resetting.

You’re not too old, too out of shape, or too far gone. You’re just getting started and this community will root for you if you choose to reset.

There Were Setbacks Too

Let’s be honest this hasn’t been all smiles and smoothies.

There were weeks when struggled. Months when I was tired, sad, and not feeling well. . Moments when I thought, “Does any of this even matter?”

But here’s the thing I’ve learned over and over:

👉 Slipping up is not the same as stopping.

👉 Resting is not quitting. I’ve learned to love slow walk Sundays.

👉 Resetting is an opportunity and not a failure.

Looking Ahead: My Year 3 Goals

*Walk consistently, with joy not pressure.

*Strength train three times a week with an eye on increasing the weights. Really focus on strengthening my core and balance.

*I’m thinking about having quarterly wellness challenges. *Continue to make space for anyone looking to reset their health. I plan on roping some of you into doing some live sessions with me. I have a mental list going already.

*You can expect me to keep sharing HOPE (healthy lifestyle, optimism, persistence, encouragement), tips, and my life stories, pig drama and all. I will feel successful through all of this you know that you are not alone and we are all in this together.

A Note to You

If you’re starting over or starting for the first time, welcome. We are thrilled to have you here. It’s our hope that you understand that:

*You don’t need to do everything today.

*We will celebrate when you choose to reset. Even one small change.

Tomorrow you can choose again.

That’s how we rebuild. That’s how we reset. That is how we repair, and how we rise.

Thank you for sharing your time and lives with me. I’m a richer person because of you.

Your message is perfect. Especially the good days and not so good days. And on the not so good days, try to do 15 minutes because something is better than nothing. Strive for consistency. You show a genuine authentic self and that is something everyone can get behind.
